Greek yogurt has been taking over the dairy aisles at supermarkets and a lot of people are wondering what the difference is.
Conventional yogurt is strained through a cheese cloth two times to strain out the liquid whey. Greek yogurt is strained three times- leaving a more concentrated and creamier yogurt packed with twice the protein, half the sodium and less carbs. Keeping all that calcium and probiotic goodness, Greek yogurts usually have less sugar additives. Sounds like a better choice to me!
Have you tried using Plain Greek Yogurt in your recipes? It makes a great substitute for sour cream!
Have you tried it in your YOATS? Yup, stir a dollop into your oatmeal and let me know what you think.
